When I say "I love you," its not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, and how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what and who you are.
Time is priceless, but it's Free. You can't own it, you can use it. You can spend it. But you can't keep it. Once you've lost it you can never get it back.
THE TIME TRAVELER'S WIFE
I wrote on the door of my heart, 'Please do not enter.'
Love came smiling and said: 'Sorry I am an illiterate.'
Expectation is the root of all heartache.
I can't go back to yesterday - because I was a different person then.
We are an impossibility in an impossible universe.
The lament of the knower's yearning and laughing, the screaming of the angry, the moaning of the dying - everything was one, everything was entwined and entwisted, was interwoven a thousandfold. And all of it together, all voices, all goals, all yearnings, all sufferings, all pleasures, all good and evil - the world was everything together. Everything together was the river of events, was the music of life.
You've got to let go of who you were, to become who you will be.
The goal in life is to discover that you've always been where you were supposed to be.
People are afraid to pursue their most important dreams beacause they that feel they don't deserve them, or that they'll be unable to acheive them. We, their hearts, become fearful just thinking of loved ones who go away forever,or of moments that could have been good but weren't, or of treasures that might have been found but were forever hidden in the sands. Because when these things happen, we suffer terribly.
But pain is hard to put into words and in life there is always pain. It's as natural as birth or death. Pain makes us who we are, it teaches us and tames us, it can destroy and it can save.
PACK UP THE MOON BY ANNA MCPARTLIN
I want to be free of you. The way you, obviously, are free of me
COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO
There is not one big cosmic meaning for all, there is only the meaning we each give to our life, an individual meaning, an individual plot, like an individual novel, a book for each person.
When he looked into her dark eyes, and saw that her lips were poised between a laugh and silence, he learned the most important part of the language that all the world spoke the language that everyone on earth was capable of understanding in their heart. It was love. Something older than humanity, more ancient than the desert.
Why didn't I learn to treat everything like it was the last time? My greatest regret was how much I believed in the future.
JONATHAN SAFRAN FOER
I love book.s I love that moment when you sink one and sink into it you can escape from the world, into a world far more interesting than yours will ever be.
If I'm honest I have to tell you I still read fairy-tales and I like them best of all.
I love talking about nothing, it's the only thing I know anything about.
Always kiss like it's the first time and the last time.
MOVIE: LEAP YEAR
At a certain point in our lives, we loose control of what's happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate.
Everything means somethin'. Don't try to change somethin' wild into somethin' tame.
BEAUTIFUL CREATURES BY KAMI GARCIA & MARGARET STOHL
People universally tend to think that happiness is a stroke of luck, something that will maybe descend upon you like fine weather if you are fortunate enough. But that's not how happiness works. Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it
EAT, PRAY, LOVE
Too bad people didn't fall in love at the same pace, at the same time, for the same reasons, and too bad those emotions didn't move simultaneously. But each act of madness moved at its own pace, one not dependent on the pace of anyone else. It wasn't like tandem skydiving, where you were connected as you fell, where you were forced to fall at the same rate and use the same parachute. Falling in love was a solo act. I knew that, had learned that the hard way. You just jumped and hoped your parachute opened. Sometimes you looked up and saw you were falling by yourself, the object of your desire still on the plane, not interested in jumping, watching you descend into that scary place alone.
ERIC JEROME DICKEY
Nothing in the world is permanent, and we're foolish when we ask anything to last, but surely we're still more foolish not to take delight in it while we have it
W. SOMERSET MAUGHAM
I love you deeper than I can swim.
I Love You Benjy Davis Project
Never forget, no matter how overwhelming life's challenges and problems seem to be, that one person can make a difference in the world. In fact, it is always because of one person that all the changes in the world come about. So be that person.
Be not the slave of your own past. Plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep and swim far, so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power, with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old.
RALPH WALDO EMERSON
For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.
VINCENT VAN GOGH
Behind all this, some great happiness is hiding.
Well, I fell in love with the World in you.
Hold My Hand As I'm Lowered, Noah & The Whale
So I found
That hunger was a way
Of persons outside windows,
The entering takes away.
You may think the past has something to tell you. You may think that you should listen, should strain to make out its whispers, should bend over backward, stop down low to hear its voice breathed up from the ground, from the dead places. You may think there's something in it for you, something to understand or make sense of.
But I know the truth: I know from the nights of coldness. I know the past will drag you backward and down, have you snatching at whispers of wind and the gibberish of trees rubbing together, trying to decipher some code, trying to piece together what was broken. Its hopeless. The past is nothing but a weight. It will build up inside of you like a stone.
Take it from me, if you hear the past speaking to you, feel it tugging at your back and running its fingers up your spine, the best thing to do the only thing is run.
LAUREN OLIVER, DELIRIUM
Stones in the road? I save every single one, and one day I'll build a castle.
